What everyone needs to know about psychology? It is common knowledge that public understanding of psychology is typically aligned with the mental health and intervention aspects of the discipline. Most people think of psychologists as clinicians and counselors. Few understand that psychology is the science of behavior, cognition and emotion. Even fewer recognize psychology as a STEM (Science-Technology-Engineering-Mathematics) discipline. People do not generally associate psychologist with scientist. APA has been doing public opinion polls to get a better handle on what people do and do not understand about psychology. The data are revealing: When survey respondents are asked the first thing that comes to mind when they think of the field of psychology, they most often use words associated with illness, helping people, and treatment. Very rarely do people spontaneously mention anything about research on mind, brain or behavior. Most adults in the United States say ...

What is Color Psychology? Color psychology is the study of colors in relation to human behavior. It aims to determine how color affects our day to day decisions such as the items we buy. Does the color of a dress compel us into purchase? Do the colors of a package make us choose one brand over another? Does the color of an icon make us more likely to click on it? The short answer is yes. But the why part is a bit more complicated. Color meanings can have an impact on why we prefer certain colors over others. The same color can also have different meanings that are dependent on our upbringing, gender, location, values, and a variety of other factors.

Better Diet, Better Mental Health A healthy diet includes a full range of vegetables, fruits, legumes (lentils, chickpeas, beans), fish, whole grains (rice, quinoa, oats, breads, etc.), nuts, avocados and olive oil to support a healthy brain. Sweet and fatty foods should be special treats, not the staples of your diet. People who eat a diet high in whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, whole grains, legumes, fish and unsaturated fats (like olive oil) are up to 35% less likely to develop depression than people who eat less of these foods.3,4 Highly processed, fried and sugary foods have littlenutritional value and should be avoided. Research shows that a diet that regularlyincludes these kinds of foods can increase the risk of developing depression byas much as 60%.5,6

https://coalesceresearchgroup.com/…/cerebrospinal-comp…/OTM4 World Congress on Neuroscience and Brain Disorders March 30-31, 2020 Kyoto, Japan # Cerebrospinal   fluid (CSF) is a pure, colorless body fluid found in the brain and spinal cord. #Cerebrospinal fluid has three main functions: It protects   # brain and   # spinal   cord from trauma, deliveries nutrients to   # nervous   system tissue, removes waste products from cerebral metabolism. CSF leaks occur through a communication between the facing of the brain and the nose. These communications may occur spontaneously or result from trauma or earlier sinonasal surgery. Complications may occur if the cause is surgery or trauma. Infections after surgery or trauma can lead to meningitis and serious complications, such as swelling of the #brain. Maximum CSF leaks are a complication of a #spinal tap or   # surgery . CSF occupies the subarachnoid space (between the arachnoidmater...

Neuroanatomy is the study of the structure and organizationof the nervous system. In contrast to animals with radial symmetry, whosenervous system consists of a distributed network of cells, animals withbilateral symmetry have segregated, defined nervous systems. Their neuroanatomyis therefore better understood. In vertebrates, the nervous system issegregated into the internal structure of the brain and spinal cord (togethercalled the central nervous system, or CNS) and the routes of the nerves that connectto the rest of the body (known as the peripheral nervous system, or PNS). Thedelineation of distinct structures and regions of the nervous system has beencritical in investigating how it works. For example, much of whatneuroscientists have learned comes from observing how damage or"lesions" to specific brain areas affects behavior or other neuralfunctions.

https://coalesceresearchgroup.com/con…/neuroscience/sessions #Brain Cancer and Tumors#Brain cancers happen when one type of cell transforms from its general characteristics. Once it gets transmuted, the cells grow and multiply in abnormal ways forming a cancerous growth of cell mass. The early symptoms includes severe #headaches and drowsiness early in the morning, sudden convulsions with involuntary movements of a person's muscles, personality or memory changes, fatigue, nausea or vomiting and sleep problems. The main causes for most brain cancer are unknown. Quiet genetic factors, strong dose of radiation to the head, environmental toxins and consumption of tobacco all of these have been linked to #braincancer.
